Our organization is seeking a Senior Technician to support engineers in the prototyping, build, and assembly of advanced mechanical and material handling systems. This is a hands‑on technical role focused on building, installing, testing, and supporting systems in a lab environment. You will work closely with Manufacturing, Controls, and Product Engineers to help bring new systems to life, from early prototypes through pilot builds and deployments.
Key Responsibilities- Support engineers with prototyping, building tracks, installing, and decommissioning assemblies.
- Perform hands‑on assembly, testing, modification, and rework of systems.
- Operate and interact with equipment, tooling, and HMI interfaces.
- Assist with the setup and teardown of test rigs and pilot systems.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues during builds.
- Follow work instructions, engineering drawings, and build documentation.
- Provide feedback to engineers on buildability, usability, and assembly challenges.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe lab and build environment.
- Support track‑side activities during testing and iteration cycles.
Experience: Candidates should have hands‑on experience in a technician, mechanical assembly, or lab support role, specifically supporting prototyping or build activities. You must be comfortable building and assisting with mechanical assemblies, operating equipment, and interacting with HMI systems. A strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to work on the floor or in a lab environment are required.
Education: A technical certificate, associate degree, or equivalent hands‑on experience is preferred. A software engineering degree is not required for this position.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience supporting manufacturing, automation, robotics, or material handling systems.
- Track‑side, pilot build, or deployment support experience.
- Familiarity with basic hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
- Experience working alongside engineers in fast‑paced R&D or manufacturing environments.
Travel may be required to other local job locations.
