Production Technician I – Painter (2nd Shift)
Kelly is currently hiring a Painter for a leading aerospace manufacturing company in Sumner, WA. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with industrial painting experience who are looking to grow their career in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Schedule2nd Shift
- Monday – Friday
- 3:30 PM – 2:00 AM
- Overtime may be required based on production needs
- Base Pay: $24.25/hour
- 10% Shift Differential
- Total Pay: $26.68/hour
The Painter sprays the surface of manufactured aerospace products with protective coatings such as paint, primer, enamel, and polyurethane according to specifications and standard work instructions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Mix coating materials according to job traveler and drawing requirements
- Prepare and fill paint cups or liners with the required materials
- Set up and operate spray equipment
- Apply primers, adhesives, paints, and topcoats to aerospace components
- Adjust spray patterns and equipment settings to meet specifications
- Inspect finished parts and test coupons to ensure quality standards are met
- Follow standard operating procedures and work instructions
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Report quality, safety, or equipment concerns to supervisors
- Support production goals while maintaining high-quality workmanship
- Experience applying primers, adhesives, and topcoats using HVLP (High Volume Low Pressure) spray equipment
- Knowledge of paint mixing ratios and coating application techniques
- Ability to read and follow written specifications and work instructions
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Technical school certification in painting, coatings, or a related field is preferred
- 3–6 months of industrial, automotive, aerospace, manufacturing, or commercial painting experience preferred
- Frequently lift, push, pull, and move materials up to 50 pounds
- Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
- Work around manufacturing equipment and machinery
- Exposure to industrial noise, paint fumes, and production environments
- PPE provided and required at all times
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
