We are currently seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our local manufacturing facility in Sumner, WA. This is a full‑time, direct‑hire opportunity operating on a first‑shift, Monday through Friday schedule. Compensation is offered between $30 and $40 per hour, depending on your experience. We also provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, and 401K coverage.

Role Overview

As a key member of our team, you will oversee the manufacturing department, focusing on the production of components for the aerospace and aviation sectors. Your primary duties will involve machine setup, operation, basic programming, and coordinating staff schedules. You will be a leader with extensive machine shop experience, proficiency in CNC Mill and Lathe operations, and a strong grasp of programming.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional communication skills, reliability, and a commitment to punctuality.

Core Responsibilities
  • Configure and operate 2‑axis and multi‑axis CNC lathes equipped with sub‑spindles.
  • Direct the daily production schedule and supervise a team of 1 to 3 staff members across two shifts.
  • Monitor departmental operations to help improve overall quality, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Ensure all equipment remains operational to maintain a consistent output of high‑quality parts.
  • Coordinate and prepare the necessary tooling and fixturing for upcoming work orders.
  • Conduct in‑process inspections using precision tools and provide suggestions to help enhance production outcomes.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with the programming, tooling, and management teams.
  • Execute basic CNC lathe programming tasks using MasterCAM.
  • Keep all machine setup documentation current and accurate.
  • Verify that all time cards, labor tickets, and production paperwork are completed correctly.
  • Help maintain a clean and safe working environment for the entire team.
  • Adhere to all established safety protocols and personal protective equipment requirements.
Qualifications and Expectations
  • Completion of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a machine shop leadership role.
  • At least 5 years of hands‑on experience with CNC lathe machining.
  • Strong critical thinking skills paired with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • A positive, team‑oriented attitude with a focus on leading by example.
  • Consistent attendance and strong time‑management capabilities.
  • Physical ability to remain standing for long durations within a manufacturing setting.
