Job Summary
Responsible for verification of product characteristics and associated manufacturing documentation and other quality records, utilizing a range of inspection techniques and methods including visual, mechanical, automated, contact and non‑contact. This responsibility will be discharged under the authority delegated by quality.
Job Responsibilities- Exemplifying a safety‑first mind‑set and ensuring that the GKN Aerospace Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards are followed.
- Responsible for performing inspection processes as described by the product work instructions and/or other directions.
- Responsible for performing first‑article inspections in line with site operating policies, procedures and work instructions.
- Responsible for execution of customer and regulatory delegated inspection processes as authorized by those parties, and for maintaining those delegated authorities once granted.
- Support root cause analysis, preventative and corrective action to reduce or eliminate non‑conformances.
- Maintain positive, team relationships with internal and external customers, as well as co‑workers.
- Support continuous improvement of production and inspection processes by implementing Lean initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in inspection methods and techniques and following relevant work instructions.
- 1+ years of experience with AS9100 series requirements.
- 1+ years of experience working with Lean processes and practices.
- GKN experience.
- Experience in an aerospace operating environment.
- Apprenticeship, associate’s degree in a technical subject or equivalent.
- Awareness of AS9100 series requirements.
- Previous delegated product acceptance authority granted by an aerospace OEM or regulatory authority.
- Familiarity with 3D model‑based engineering.
