Overview
DOE, compensation depending on experience
Hands on shop role repairing, upgrading, reconditioning, and re manufacturing electrical power distribution equipment, from a single circuit breaker to complete substations.
What You Will Do
- Read breaker evaluations and work orders, then complete requested service
- Disassemble and reassemble circuit breakers with accurate documentation
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues and complete repairs
- Work safely around stored energy mechanisms
- Read schematics and wiring diagrams and follow OEM manuals and detailed instructions
- Test and electrically operate breakers including charge, close, and trip functions
- Operate test equipment relevant to breaker type
- Recondition and verify key electrical components such as motors, relays, coils, and aux switches
- Support onsite and emergency jobs when needed after training
- Maintain good housekeeping in your work area
- Routine mechanical tasks
What We Are Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong mechanical aptitude with solid electrical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits safely and make repairs
- Ability to use measuring tools such as vernier caliper, micrometer, and tape measure
- Willingness to read and study OEM manuals and technical literature
- Comfortable with basic computer use including Excel, PDF, and Outlook
- Must have your own tools
- Detail oriented, organized, team player, strong communication, able to work at a fast pace
- Willingness to travel to some job sites after training
- Mechanical skills about 80 percent
- Electrical skills about 20 percent
Physical Requirements
- Capable of lifting 50 pounds
- Occasional reaching or working overhead, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
- Frequent walking
- Continuous standing and repetitive hand motion
- Lifting includes occasional up to 75 pounds, frequent up to 50 pounds, and continuous up to 25 pounds
