About This RoleWe are seeking a skilled Vac Truck Operator at our Sumner, WA location for a union position that requires IBEW Local requirements and good standing. The operator will safely transport and operate the vacuum truck, assist the crew, and ensure jobs are completed efficiently and safely.
Pay: $34.60–$60.85/hr, depending on experience.
What You'll Do- Operate the vacuum truck and associated equipment safely and efficiently.
- Drive the vehicle safely, following all road rules, DOT regulations and company policies.
- Secure contents and equipment during transportation.
- Perform daily pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections and Job Hazard Analyses.
- Follow on‑site safety procedures and comply with OSHA, WISHA, and DOT regulations.
- Maintain the vacuum truck, tools and equipment in clean, safe, and serviceable condition.
- Communicate effectively with foremen, coworkers, and customers.
- Prepare required reports, including time records and job orders.
- Assist the crew in all capacities and perform additional duties as directed by the foreman.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with air brake endorsement.
- Experience operating a vacuum truck.
- Clean driving record (no more than 2 tickets in the last 5 years).
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong focus on quality, safety, and time management.
- Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 12 hours), lift 75 pounds, and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Must pass mandatory drug and alcohol screenings.
- Prior experience with electric utility or EPC construction.
- Tanker endorsement on CDL.
- Forklift, flagging, and first aid/CPR certifications.
- Experience working around high‑voltage electrical systems.
The anticipated compensation is $34.60/hr – $60.85/hr, depending on experience and qualifications.
