Receiving Office Associate
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Receiving Office Associate to join our distribution center in Sumner, WA. This role supports the receiving department through office and warehouse functions, including data entry, daily reconciliations, recordkeeping, inbound freight processing, and communication with internal teams and carriers.
The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of distribution center receiving experience, strong computer skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in both an office and warehouse environment.
Important:
This is a NON-DRIVER position. Workers selected for this role are not permitted to have any driving responsibilities during the assignment.
Position Overview:
This role supports a safe and productive receiving environment. Perform daily receiving reconciliations and maintain accurate records. Complete data entry and process inbound freight information. Use Warehouse Management Software (WMS), AS400, and other computer systems. Process packing slips, Bills of Lading (BOLs), and purchase orders. Document damaged, short, or lost shipments accurately. Ensure receiving jobs are assigned and completed correctly. Answer incoming phone calls professionally and take messages as needed.
Communicate effectively with coworkers and other departments. Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently. Maintain required standards for accuracy and productivity across designated work zones. Report damage to equipment or materials immediately to a supervisor. Use required computer programs and hardware to complete job duties. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
1+ year of distribution center receiving experience required. Experience with receiving functions within a Warehouse Management System preferred. Ability and willingness to obtain certification to operate warehouse equipment. Experience with forklifts, stand-up reach trucks, order pickers, or narrow-aisle equipment is a plus. Company training will be provided for required equipment certifications. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram instructions.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve routine problems. Ability to read and understand safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work overtime as needed.
Equipment:
The successful candidate will be trained and/or certified to operate material handling equipment as required, including Narrow-Aisle High Reach, Order Picker, Forklift and other warehouse equipment as applicable.
Physical & Work Environment:
Steel-toed work boots are required. Frequent walking and constant use of hands for handling materials and equipment. Ability to occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, or balance. Must be able to regularly handle materials weighing up to 25 pounds and frequently handle up to 50 pounds. Warehouse environment may include exposure to high noise levels and varying temperatures. Frequent exposure to potentially dangerous equipment;
strict adherence to safety procedures is required.
