Santee-Lynches Regional Council of Governments (SLCOG) is a regional organization serving Clarendon, Kershaw, Lee, and Sumter counties in South Carolina. As a voluntary association of local governments, SLCOG fosters collaboration to address regional challenges and priorities. The organization provides services such as grant administration, economic development assistance, infrastructure improvements, transportation planning, and workforce development. Governed by a 29-member Board of Directors, SLCOG focuses on enhancing efficiency and cooperation among local governments without legislative or taxing authority.

SLCOG brings public and private sector leaders together to address needs and pursue opportunities in the community.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role located in Sumter, SC, for a Grants Accountant. The Grants Accountant will be responsible for preparing accurate financial statements, maintaining detailed financial records, reconciling accounts, and assisting in grant administration and reporting. Daily tasks will include processing journal entries, managing the accounting records for grant funding, preparing financial reports, and performing financial analysis to ensure proper allocation and use of funds.

Qualifications
  • Proficiency in creating Financial Statements, Financial Reporting, and Account Reconciliation
  • Experience with Journal Entries and Accounting processes
  • Strong Analytical Skills for assessing financial data and solving problems
  • Attention to detail and proficiency in financial tools and software
  • Familiarity with grant-related financial management is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
