Job Summary

The Business Coordinator will be an integral member of the School of Music administrative team. Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Finance, responsibilities include travel processing, purchasing, accounts payable, and receivable for the School of Music.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process travel for approximately 50 School of Music faculty members, guest artists, and students.
  • Complete transactions in accordance with BUSF 1.00 and submit required documentation.
  • Work closely with the School of Music Assistant Dean of Finance to ensure funds are allocated and approved.
  • Assist with payment requests, check requests, and deposits.
  • Assist with School of Music financials, including accounts payable, receivable, and purchasing.
  • Prepare School of Music deposits to USC Bursar according to university procedures.
  • Work with the Assistant Dean of Finance on running monthly reports and preparing the annual budget.
  • Provide financial assistance to the Symphony, Spark, Music Industries, and Summer Music programs.
  • Serve as the Purchasing Card program liaison for all School of Music purchasing cards.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business preferred.
  • Knowledge or ability to quickly learn USC policies and procedures related to accounting, purchasing, office management, records management, and administrative operations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe products.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively in a team environment.
