Postal Courier (#013713) Turbeville Correctional Institution, Turbeville (CLARENDON) Level 2

• Receives and delivers mail and small parcels to and from United States Postal Facility serving the Institution.
• Censors and/or searches outgoing and incoming inmate mail and parcels.
• Prepares mailroom notice of unauthorized items for inmate money orders, checks, etc., and order to report forms for parcels for delivery to inmates during daily mail call.
• Inspects and prepares inmates outgoing mail/parcels and prepares institutional mail, to include numbered insured, certified and registered for delivery to the post office daily.
• Inmate legal mail is received and distributed in accordance with applicable policies and procedures.
• Assists with coordinating postage meter replenishment and postage reimbursements from inmates on a monthly basis or as required.

Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

A high school diploma and work experience in postal, courier, or delivery operations.

• A high school diploma and one (1) year of work experience in postal, courier or delivery operations.
• An associate degree or higher may be substituted for the required work experience.

Must become notary within three (3) months of accepting position.
