This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (BHDD) - Office of Mental Health (OMH), Coastal Empire Mental Health Center (CEMHC), Beaufort Clinic, 1050 Ribaut Rd, Beaufort, SC 29902.

As the Client Support Supervisor, you will work under the general supervision of the Center Director/ Assistant Center Director. This position will act as Supervisor of all Clinical Support Staff and perform paraprofessional accounting duties and oversight of the Financial Counseling and Billing functions of all the clinic front desks.

Responsibilities for the Client Support Supervisor / Administrative Coordinator I include:
  • Act as Client financial service expert for all clinical support staff support staff working the front desk at each of the clinics. Provide monthly supervision to direct reports, completing documentation of topics with employee signature. Provide appropriate training to support staff and other BHDD employees such as but not limited to coding, eligibility checks, chart updates and AR process and procedures, and billings.

    Interpret accounting system policies, procedures and forms, recommending changes to enhance the effectiveness of operations and is responsible for ensuring administrative staff are brought up to date.
  • Responsible for monthly billing audits for all payor sources and payor aging reports. Process all payments received in house. Research correction or retroactive requests for need and accuracy. Maintain Account Receiveable files/activities per BHDD & CECMHC policies, self-pay activity (write-offs, returned bills, returned checks, balances).
  • Update annual reviews — those with reduction that have not provided proof of income. Responsible for the Center’s internal financial audits at each clinic, which include: facilitate the auditing and monitoring process; monthly reviews of all clinics financial inputs; run financial reports for middle and executive management teams (ABN’s, Medicaid Count, No show report monthly and other reports) upon request.
  • Perform data entry and accounting clerical duties in support of department operations to include:
    Avatar updates, payments, adjustments and corrections and assist with data entry as needed. Correct bad addresses, complete and correct data entry errors from front desk.
  • Comply with all applicable BHDD/CECMHC Quality Assurance, Corporate Compliance and Cultural Competence policies, procedures and regulations as well as all Federal and State laws. Attend all trainings classified mandatory by Federal and State regulations.
Qualifications
  • A high school diploma and four (4) years of experience in business management, public administration or administrative services. A bachelor’s degree may be substituted for required work experience.
  • At least five (5) experience supervising others.
  • Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.
Post hire, the employee must have:
  • Thorough knowledge of modern office practices, procedures and equipment in regard to accounting.
  • Considerable knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping principles and practices.
  • Skill in the use of mathematical concepts.
  • The ability to interpret and apply financial procedures and regulations.
