SUMMARY Parts Consultants are responsible for assisting service technicians, retail customers, and wholesale accounts by accurately identifying, pricing, and selling automotive parts and accessories. This role supports the service department’s efficiency while delivering excellent customer service and maintaining accurate inventory control.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES Essential Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Assist service technicians and customers at the parts counter with parts identification and availability.
Lookup parts using electronic catalog systems and manufacturer resources.
Accurately quote prices, process invoices, and complete sales transactions.
Pull, stage, and deliver parts to technicians in a timely manner.
Order parts from manufacturers and vendors as needed.
Receive, stock, and label incoming parts shipments.
Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts.
Handle returns, credits, and warranty parts according to dealership policies.
Keep parts department clean, organized, and secure.
Communicate effectively with service advisors, technicians, and management.
Provide prompt, courteous, and professional service.
Resolve customer questions or concerns efficiently.
Build strong working relationships with internal and external customers.
QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of automotive systems and parts terminology.
Ability to use parts catalog software and dealership management systems (DMS)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to prioritize tasks by importance.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous automotive parts experience preferred (dealership experience a plus)
LANGUAGE SKILLS Must be able to read, understand and follow safety rules and regulations to meet department policies and OSHA requirements.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively to customers and other employees within the organization.
REASONING ABILITY to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Valid Driver's LicenseON JOB TRAINING / CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Manufacturer Training and Certification Compliance Training through company platform PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time; type on a computer; and to talk or hear, both in person and by telephone.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Employee is required to have visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing quotes and emailing customers; viewing a computer terminal and expansive reading.
Ability to move between shop and office environments.
WORK ENVIRONMENT Employee is subject to outside environmental conditions occasionally; inside conditions frequently, with protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature change.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
