Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 2 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.

Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials

  • Driver’s License

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Student Services, Hospitality, Retail, or related field and 1 year related experience or Bachelor’s degree and 3 years related experience in student affairs, or student development capacities or in social services, social work, hospitality, retail, or volunteer coordination
  • Knowledge of inventory management, customer service, and program coordination. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, staff, volunteers and community partners.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Knowledge of basic-needs support services, food pantry operations, and resources that address food insecurity and other barriers to student success.
  • Knowledge of inventory management, purchasing, receiving, storage, and distribution processes.
  • Knowledge of recordkeeping, data collection, and reporting related to program participation and resource utilization.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple operational priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong inventory management and attention-to-detail skills, including tracking stock levels, expiration dates, donations, purchases, and distributions.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer-service skills, particularly when working with students from diverse backgrounds and circumstances.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Skills in volunteer recruitment, training, scheduling, and supervision.

Job Duty Operational Leadership

  • Coordinates resource recruitment, delivery, communication, and operational management for the Gamecock Comm Unity Shop and associated basic needs initiatives serving the University community.
  • Manages daily operations of the Gamecock Comm Unity Shop to ensure spaces are open, accessible, staffed, clean, organized, and fully stocked for student use.
  • Coordinates inventory management, stocking, organization, and distribution processes, including backstock necessary for daily service delivery.
  • Responds to scheduled and unscheduled donation drop-offs and coordinates processing, organization, and distribution of incoming inventory.
