position overview:
the field construction manager – day shift is responsible for overseeing daily construction activities and field operations for projects supporting federal and industrial infrastructure programs in aiken, south carolina. This role provides onsite leadership for construction execution, subcontractor coordination, safety performance, schedule adherence, and quality control while ensuring all work complies with project specifications and regulatory requirements.
the field construction manager plays a critical role in ensuring safe and efficient construction operations while maintaining compliance with federal contracting standards, site-specific safety protocols, and company procedures. This position works closely with project leadership, engineering teams, subcontractors, and client representatives to deliver projects successfully within scope, schedule, and budget.
success in this role requires strong field leadership, construction management experience, and the ability to manage complex work environments while promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.
what you’ll do- lead and supervise day shift construction activities onsite, ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project schedules and approved work plans.
- coordinate and manage subcontractors, craft personnel, inspectors, and vendors to ensure construction progress meets project timelines and quality expectations.
- promote and enforce a strong safety culture by conducting daily safety briefings, job hazard analyses, pre-task planning, and field safety inspections.
- monitor construction schedules and support look-ahead planning to maintain project productivity and minimize delays.
