Role Overview

Haile Gold Mine located in South Carolina is the largest gold mine on the East Coast of America. Our employees are at the heart of all we do. The Superintendent will manage and oversee electrical construction of the leach plant circuit expansion, paste plant and surface facilities for the underground projects.

The role involves managing construction contractors, overseeing quality control of contractor work, and working with the owners' team to ensure best practices for maintenance and operation of new equipment and facilities.

  • Actively promote safety awareness and environmental responsibility among company and contract personnel.
  • Report all personal injuries and incidents and assist with investigations.
  • Actively support and participate in safety and environmental initiatives.
  • Accept accountability to ensure personal safety and the safety of others while protecting the environment.
  • Monitor reporting of workplace incidents and hazards to ensure effective risk mitigation.
  • Undertake workplace inspections and audits to ensure site standards are being adhered to.
  • Coordinate incident investigations that occur within area of control.
  • Participate in planning meetings to review drawings, determine priorities, and assist in scheduling the work.
  • Establish and monitor electrical construction methods and practices for cost control of schedule, labor, materials and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical codes, standards and safety regulations.
  • Review and interpret blueprints, schematics and other project documentation related to electrical installations.
  • Plan and execute electrical installations according to project specifications.
  • Oversee and coordinate contractor electricians and other electrical workers for the project team.
  • Work with project manager for the control, care and protection of tools, equipment and company assets on site.
  • Ensure all activities within area of control meet nominated specifications.
  • Ensure all works under control are fit for purpose and meet end users’ requirements.
  • Consult with supervisory personnel and subcontractors on planning, executing work procedures, interpreting specifications and coordinating construction phases.
  • Assist project manager and engineer with change orders and extra work requests.
  • Work with project engineer to schedule major process equipment deliveries.
  • Coordinate electrical work with civil and mechanical work.
  • Coordinate with process equipment vendors at start‑up.
  • Inspect ongoing work to ensure workmanship conforms to specifications and meets construction schedules.
  • Meet regularly with engineer and inspectors regarding required work, quality and other job‑related issues.
  • Resolve construction problems and improve methods.
  • Assist in preparing progress reports, material lists and job‑related costs.
  • Maintain accurate records of project progress, employee performance and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate efficiency and relationships between all key personnel involved with the project.
