Drafter

Daniel Builders seeks to hire a draftsperson with work experience to join our design team. A successful applicant should be hardworking and reliable with good communication and organizational skills.

Job Responsibilities:

Supporting Daniel Builders values

Working and communicating with Design Project Managers and Designers to create and present necessary drawings (including sketches and renderings) for assigned projects

Attending meetings for new clients/projects and meetings for drawing iterations of in-progress clients/projects

Working directly with clients and gaining understanding on how to best produce drawings for their project that help to direct them to reasonable solutions that; work best for the client, meet building codes, meet budget and are feasible for construction

Measuring existing residential or commercial spaces

Drawing as-built plans, developing potential layout schemes, and through the process of generating several drawing iterations, create a final set of drawings that can be used for construction

Developing other drawings (interior and exterior elevations, roof plans, site plans, etc.) and 3D models for renderings as needed

Research and implementation of building codes within drawings

Working with local municipalities and review boards to produce documents necessary for permitting

Required Skills/

Experience:

Minimum 2 yr. or 4 yr. degree and previous work experience in the drafting field

Proficiency in utilizing contemporary drafting and rendering software

General computer skills

General construction knowledge
