Manufacturing Engineer
Job Overview
The primary responsibility of this role is to lead development and confirmation of new model plastic shop equipment and ensure project milestones are achieved prior to the North American Manufacturing Centers Production Start-up.
Key Responsibilities- Lead equipment installation projects and report status to team and management.
- Make and maintain project schedules based on Toyota new model launch milestones.
- Support allocation of technical resources to Toyota locations in need.
- Procure machinery from vendors using tools such as Ariba and SAP.
- Attend machine confirmation trials at vendors across North America and Japan.
- Provide project management support of new model equipment development regarding risk assessment, specification, installation, and trials.
- Identify equipment problems and implement countermeasures.
- Lead installation activities related to interior/exterior plastics equipment/processes, coordinating trial activities.
- Create new machine specifications and lead spec/drawing reviews with vendor and team on new process equipment.
- Support standardized work development, team member training, and quality control plan documentation.
- Support plant engineering, manufacturing activities, and technical reporting.
- Lead equipment commissioning through Kanban process.
- Ability to work from and maintain multiple equipment project schedules.
- Experience in skilled trades management and oversight.
- Ability to oversee machine installation projects and general construction contracting work.
- Experience in new model launch for automotive and or manufacturing.
- Experience installing manufacturing equipment such as conveyors, robots, assembly work cells, punch machines, milling machines, etc.
- Ability to travel up to 50%, and able to travel internationally (Canada, Mexico, Japan, etc.).
- Bachelor’s degree or higher or years of automotive equipment installation experience.
- Added bonus if you have TUV technician certification.
- OSHA
10 certification. - Passed TBP thru panel.
- TECS Experience (Digital Kanban).
- Ariba, SAP, Catia experience.
