• Valid South Carolina teacher's certificate in Middle/Secondary Level Social Studies Education.

• Candidates holding a valid Statement of Eligibility from a state‑approved alternative certification program are also encouraged to apply. The Board may consider alternatives to the above qualifications as appropriate.

• Meets and instructs assigned classes at designated locations and times.
• Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students and state standards.
• Establishes clear objectives for all classroom activities and communicates these objectives to students.
• Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media consistent with the physical limitations, needs, and capabilities of the student groups involved.
• Utilizes effective classroom management strategies to create a conducive learning environment that is developmentally appropriate.
• Strives to implement the District's philosophy and instructional goals and objectives by instruction and action.
• Takes necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, District policy, and regulation.
• Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

190 days. Salary and work year to be established by the Board.

Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
