Job Responsibilities- The Instructor will serve within the Information Systems Technology Department, primarily teaching courses in the Computer Programming Technology (CPT) program and the Network Systems Management (NSM) and in its related certificate programs.

This position is located on various Midlands Technical College campuses in the School of Business.
Minimum and Additional RequirementsMaster’s degree in a computing related field or a master’s degree in a related discipline with concentration in computing (to include a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline).
Preferred QualificationsFor CPT and NSM programs:
Knowledge of computing concepts, networking applications, operating systems, network protocols (TCP/IP, Ethernet, VoIP), and networking hardware is required as well as the ability to keep abreast of networking technologies, the demonstrated ability to teach these skills, to manage a classroom environment and to participate productively in college committees. CompTIA Security+ certification, Cisco CCNA certification, or Microsoft certification is preferred.
For CPT 101 program: A teaching knowledge of basic computer history, theory and applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and the operating system, as well as the ability to keep abreast of new computing technologies, and the demonstrated ability to teach these skills, to manage classroom environment and to participate productively in College committees.
CompensationAdjunct faculty are compensated in accordance with Midlands Technical College’s established pay schedule. The standard adjunct pay rate is $2,802 per three-credit-hour course. Final compensation may vary depending on academic credentials and total course credit hours. Any variation is determined upon hire and outlined in the faculty employment agreement.
