Assistant Professor of School Psychology
The faculty of the Psychology at the University of South Carolina, Columbia campus, invites applications for a tenure‑track, full‑time Assistant Professor of School Psychology. The position is a 9‑month appointment beginning August 16, 2026.
The successful candidate will join a highly collegial and supportive professional network of high‑impact scholars, work closely with faculty and students from the Clinical‑Community, Quantitative, and Cognitive and Neural Science concentrations, and contribute to the academic mission of the Department of Psychology and the College of Arts and Sciences through undergraduate and graduate teaching and research in child and adolescent mental health, effective school behavioral health, and community‑school partnerships.
RequiredEducation and Experience
- Ph.D. in school psychology or a related field.
- Demonstrated record of high‑impact research productivity, leadership experience in school psychology, and excellence in teaching by the start date of the appointment.
- Graduated from an APA accredited program in School Psychology.
- Demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and multicultural humility in educational and work environments and in engaging diverse communities in school psychology research.
- Expected to pursue external grants to support research and contribute to teaching in courses related to child and adolescent mental health and school behavioral health.
