The Enrollment Counselor is a full-time, on-site role located in Sumter, SC, responsible for supporting recruitment and enrollment efforts for Morris College. This position engages prospective students and families through campus visits, high school and community outreach, college fairs, and individual advising. The Enrollment Counselor provides accurate information about academic programs, financial aid, campus life, and admission requirements, and guides applicants through each stage of the admissions process.
Daily responsibilities include responding to inquiries, maintaining applicant records, following up with prospective students, and collaborating with faculty and staff to support recruitment initiatives. The role also involves contributing to admissions events, presentations, and special projects designed to increase awareness and interest in Morris College.
- Candidates should possess strong Communication and Interpersonal Communication skills to effectively engage with prospective students, families, and school partners.
- Candidates should possess Customer Service skills to provide responsive, supportive, and professional assistance throughout the admissions process.
- Candidates should possess Sales-related skills, including persuasive outreach and relationship-building, to support recruitment and enrollment goals.
- Candidates should possess Education-related skills or experience, such as familiarity with college admissions, student advising, or educational programs.
- Additional beneficial qualifications include organizational and time-management skills, comfort with public speaking and presentations, proficiency with common office and admissions software, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations.
- A bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, communications, business, or a related field, and prior experience in admissions, recruitment, or student services are preferred.
