Job Responsibilities
The Director of the Student Success Center provides strategic and operational leadership for a comprehensive student success unit that oversees advising, tutoring, retention, career development, and compliance. Ensures the delivery of high-quality, student-centered services through effective management of staffing, budgets, processes, communications, and cross-campus collaboration. Leads data-informed retention and completion initiatives, academic support services, and early intervention strategies designed to improve student persistence, achievement, and graduation outcomes.
In addition, the role provides oversight of case management, ADA accommodations, career and transfer services, and serves as the College’s Compliance Officer for Title IX, Section 504, Title II, and ADA to ensure regulatory compliance and a safe, supportive learning environment.
- Student Success Center
- Oversees the College's Student Success Center. Ensures delivery of outstanding service to students and internal/external stakeholders. Makes operational decisions related to department functions, staffing, and budget recommendations. Receives, investigates, and responds to departmental concerns and service issues. Continuously reviews and improves processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of services. Fosters strong collaborative relationships with Admissions, Financial Aid, Registrar, Dual Enrollment, Student Accounts, and campus leadership.
Develops and implements communication strategies, including print materials, website content, and social media outreach. Conducts needs assessments for technology, facilities, and equipment; make recommendations to senior leadership. Prepares weekly reports on departmental operations, retention outcomes, and student success initiatives. Ensures alignment of Student Success Center operations with institutional goals and student success priorities. - Student Retention and Completion
- Develops and implements retention plans for first-year and at-risk students. Tracks student persistence, credit completion, and graduation outcomes. Identifies barriers to student success and implements targeted interventions. Implements innovative strategies to support retention and success for a diverse and growing student population. Designs and participates in activities that strengthen student success outcomes across the College and provides leadership to an effective college-wide retention committee.
Applies best practices in student development to promote engagement, academic success, and goal completion. Ensures integration of advising and student support services across all College divisions. - Academic and Student Support Services
- Oversees academic advising and student success coaching functions. Manages tutoring centers, learning labs, and supplemental instruction. Coordinates early alert systems and faculty intervention processes. Develops and evaluates advising, student support, tutoring, and retention programs. Advises students on program selection, academic planning, scheduling, and registration. Designs and implements seminars, workshops, and student development programming. Coordinates planning and systematic evaluation of assigned programs and services.
Facilitates development of technology-based tools to support student access and success. Designs early warning and intervention strategies for at-risk students. Develops processes to align student interests, aptitude, and educational pathways. Ensures data collection, analysis, and reporting for compliance and continuous improvement. - Case Management, Career, and Transfer Support
- Leads outreach and intervention for students experiencing academic or personal challenges. Connects students with counseling, financial aid, disability services, and workforce resources. Serves as Compliance Officer for Title IX, Section 504, Title II, ADA, Title VI, and other regulatory compliance associated with Student Services. Oversees ADA accommodations and ensures appropriate student support services are provided. Ensures career and transfer advising services are available to students across all campuses.
Develops and implements individualized coaching for job search skills, resumes, and interview preparation. Leads integrated career development and employer relations programming. Maintains databases and resources for employment opportunities, transfer options, and career planning. Organizes career fairs, transfer events, and employer/college recruitment visits. Aligns academic and career planning tools to support student goals and workforce readiness. Applies student development best practices to strengthen career and transfer outcomes. - Performs other duties as assigned.
