POSITION: Elementary Science Lab Teacher

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor s degree or above. Must have a valid South Carolina teacher s certificate in Elementary Education or appropriate Science certification. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
- Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students and aligns with the South Carolina College- and Career-Ready Science Standards.
- Establishes clear objectives for all laboratory and classroom activities and communicates these objectives to students.
- Develops and implements engaging, inquiry-based science lessons and laboratory experiences that promote scientific thinking, problem-solving, and hands-on learning.
- Utilizes a variety of instructional strategies, technology, and instructional materials appropriate for elementary science instruction.
- Differentiates instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.
- Maintains a safe, organized, and effective science laboratory environment and ensures proper care, storage, and use of laboratory materials and equipment.
- Teaches and reinforces appropriate laboratory safety procedures and ensures students follow established safety expectations.
- Collaborates with classroom teachers to support and enhance science instruction and promote cross-curricular connections.
- Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, District policy, and administrative regulations.
- Strives to implement through instruction and action the District s philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Participates in faculty meetings, professional learning, and other school and district activities as assigned.
- Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
TERMS: 190 days. Salary and work year to be established by the Board.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board s policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
