Job Responsibilities
Provide instruction for the Heavy Equipment Technology program. Instructors will teach students the fundamentals of operation and safety using the following Caterpillar simulators:
Bulldozer, Excavator, Motor Grader, Front Wheel Loader, Backhoe Loader and Skid-Steer Loader. Maintains a high level of excellence in teaching by communicating and interacting effectively with students enrolled in courses within the program area. Prepares materials needed for instruction and ensuring the readiness of facilities for class activities; evaluation and reporting of students’ progress; assigning and assisting students on class projects;
creating and delivering lecture demonstrations. Keep student records and adheres to course schedules.

This position will be located on the Midlands Technical College Airport Campus.
Minimum And Additional Requirements
At least three (3) to five (5) years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator Technician, one (1) year of supervisory or training experience. Must have basic computer experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Heavy Equipment/Diesel Technology or related field. At least five (5) years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator Technician or Trainer.
Additional Comments
Adjunct faculty are compensated in accordance with Midlands Technical College’s established pay schedule. The standard adjunct pay rate is $62.50 per hour. Final compensation may vary depending on academic credentials and total course credit hours. Any variation is determined upon hire and outlined in the faculty employment agreement.
