Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher.
  • Valid South Carolina teacher’s certificate in Special Education (preferably multicategorical; learning disabilities accepted).
  • Other qualifications acceptable as determined by the Board.
Responsibilities
  • Meets and instructs assigned classes in the designated locations and times.
  • Plans a program of study that meets individual student needs, interests, and abilities and adheres to state standards.
  • Establishes clear objectives for all classroom activities and communicates them to students.
  • Employs a variety of instructional techniques and media suited to the classroom environment and student needs.
  • Utilizes effective classroom management strategies to create a conducive learning environment.
  • Acts in accordance with the District’s philosophy of education and instructional goals.
  • Ensures the safety of students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Maintains accurate, complete records as required by law, policy, and regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
    • Terms

    190 days. Salary and work year to be established by the Board.

    Evaluation

    Performance will be evaluated per the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
