Lead Application Engineer

Job Description Summary

The Heavy‑Duty (HD) Services Complex Inquiry to Order (ITO) Engineering team owns the application engineering of conversions, modifications, and uprates (CM&U) to the installed fleet of HD Gas Turbines. The Lead Application Engineer will own Inquiry To Order (ITO) activities for the Gas Power Services Complex Gas team, such as proposal generation and Technical Application Guidelines (TAG) development globally, and will drive consistency and common global processes for project implementation in the Complex projects space for the large and diverse installed fleet of Gas Power units.

• Develop technical solutions with a focus on controls upgrades as part of the ITO process while working directly with commercial and sales teams.
• Conduct technical analysis of client needs, defining and optimizing products with respect to scope, schedule, industrial scheme, cost, and internal policies.
• Collaborate with Design Center of Excellence (COE) teams to understand plant, system, and equipment performance and efficiency post‑upgrade.
• Document technical specifications and costing elements for a CM&U upgrade and customize products for specific customer needs.
• Own and maintain Technical Application Guidelines (TAG) to support accurate and timely proposal generation.
• Demonstrate understanding of key business drivers and how they support proposal generation.
• Work effectively within a matrixed organization, integrating with larger Applications teams and other stakeholders.
• Resolve technical issues using sound judgment within established procedures.
• Collaborate with supporting teams such as AEMs, OTR, Design COEs, Communications Operations, and Sales to build and influence winning solutions for customers in situations beyond defined parameters.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college, or a high school diploma/GED with equivalent experience.
• At least 6 years of experience in Technical/Customer Engineering.
• Prior experience in gas turbine controls technology.
• Experience in HD Services ITO or ITR Engineering and familiarity with ITR processes.
• Knowledge of the legacy Alstom Gas Turbine technology.
• Knowledge of the GE Vernova Gas Turbine product portfolio.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience and demonstrated success working in a global cross‑functional environment.
• Master’s degree in engineering (preferred).

Pay range: $98,400.00 – $ with geographic differentials of 110%, 120%, or 130%. Bonus: discretionary annual.
