We are looking for an Electrical Coordinator to join our team in Harleyville, SC. As an Electrical Coordinator with Quikrete Heavy Construction Materials, you will be responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of all electrical, automation, and control systems supporting continuous cement production. The role combines technical leadership, asset management, safety compliance, and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safety & Compliance
    • Ensure compliance with NFPA 70E, NEC, MSHA/OSHA, and corporate safety standards.
    • Own and enforce LOTO, arc‑flash studies, labeling, and PPE programs.
    • Lead electrical incident investigations and corrective actions.
    • Ensure contractor electrical safety qualification and site compliance.
  • Electrical & Automation Asset Reliability
    • Maintain high availability of MV/LV power distribution (substations, MCCs, switch gear), VFDs, soft starters, motor systems, PLCs, DCS, SCADA, field instrumentation, analyzers (gas, process, emissions).
    • Develop and execute preventive & predictive maintenance programs.
    • Lead RCA for electrical‑related downtime.
    • Manage obsolescence and lifecycle replacement strategies.
  • Power & Energy Management
    • Optimize plant power consumption and energy intensity (kWh/ton).
    • Manage utility interconnection, demand control, power quality, harmonics, grounding, backup power and critical loads, support CO₂ reduction initiatives through electrification and optimization.
  • Capital Projects & Modernization
    • Lead or support electrical scope for kiln, mill, cooler, alternative fuel projects, substation upgrades, plant expansions, digitalization, automation upgrades.
    • Define electrical standards, specifications, and FAT/SAT requirements.
    • Manage contractors, budgets, schedules, and commissioning.
    • Ensure seamless integration with existing plant systems.
  • Maintenance Organization & Leadership
    • Lead electrical, automation, and instrumentation teams.
    • Develop skills matrices, training plans, and succession planning.
    • Drive standard work, job plans, and CMMS accuracy.
    • Coordinate closely with Mechanical, Production, and Process teams.
  • Continuous Improvement & Digitalization
    • Drive adoption of condition monitoring, remote diagnostics, cybersecurity best practices (OT security).
    • Improve maintenance KPIs for electrical downtime, MTBF / MTTR, planned vs reactive work, support data‑driven decision making using plant systems.
  • Vendor & OEM Management
    • Serve as technical authority for ABB, Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider, etc.
    • Evaluate new technologies and solutions.
    • Manage service contracts and long‑term partnerships.
    • Ensure documentation, spares strategy, and technical support readiness.
  • Strategic Contribution
    • Align electrical strategy with plant reliability, cost, and sustainability goals.
    • Support long‑term plant master planning.
    • Provide technical input to leadership for investment decisions.
Qualifications
  • Experience aligning electrical strategy with plant reliability, cost, and sustainability goals.
  • Ability to develop skills matrices, training plans, and succession planning.
  • Experience optimizing plant power consumption and energy intensity (kWh/ton).
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PMs) following OEM and company standards.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70E, NEC, MSHA/OSHA, and corporate safety standards.
  • Experience managing LOTO, arc‑flash studies, labeling, PPE programs, and incident investigations.
  • Proficient in MV/LV power distribution, PLC, DCS, SCADA, VFD, and related equipment.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to coordinate cross‑functional teams.
  • Ability to support capital projects and manage contractors, budgets, and schedules.
  • Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
