Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Engineer with at least 10 years of experience to work on site. The EHS Engineer will develop and implement programs and policies that ensure the overall safety and health of employees and support compliant business operations. The role requires in-depth knowledge of EH&S laws, regulations, and management systems, and will involve design recommendations with an understanding of reference architecture and application transition plans.

Job Responsibilities
  • Key player in all Environmental, Health, and Safety initiatives on‑site.
  • Act as deputy EHS Leader when the EHS Leader is absent.
  • Actively participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations.
  • Serve as a subject‑matter expert as a member of the EHS Team.
  • Participate as an EHS expert on new equipment project teams, from design to operational stages.
  • Lead site safety and sustainability campaigns.
  • Represent the site to authorities and insurance companies on technical EHS topics.
  • Maintain technical expertise in machine guarding, lock‑out/tag‑out, and other relevant safety programs.
  • Maintain knowledge of site sustainability targets and projects to ensure their achievement and completion.
  • Contribute core to ISO 14001 certification and help keep the site audit ready.
  • Participate in EHS programs as requested.
  • Bring positivity to the workplace, growing safety and sustainability culture and influencing the mindset of associates, peers, and superiors.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Process Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Or a Bachelor of Science or Associate of Science degree in a Technical Field or Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Health and Safety.
  • 5+ years of relevant manufacturing experience.
  • Min of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience leading EHS projects and teams.
  • Professional (ASP/CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certifications, preferred.
  • Experience managing environmental compliance including reporting, record‑keeping, permitting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience evaluating/interpreting OSHA, EPA and DOT regulations.
  • Title V reporting and regulations expertise.
  • Preferred experience in medical device or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Preferred knowledge and experience in ISO 14001 compliance.

  • Understanding of federal and state safety and environmental laws.
  • Ability to identify and evaluate workplace hazards and environmental issues.
