Panelboard Engineer

Eaton’s Electrical Sector – ARS division is currently seeking a Panel board Engineer. This role is based onsite at our CPA manufacturing facility in Sumter, SC. The Mechanical Engineer (Panel boards) is responsible for engineering customer orders including detailed review of layout and application of equipment, wiring and component selection, component layout and modeling using 3D CAD software, and supports various phases of order management from initial engineering review thru production shipment.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $71,000 - $105,000 per year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. • Verify that complete and accurate order entry information has been received for incoming panel board orders.
• Prepare Manufacturing Information (MI) for panel boards, utilizing Bid Manager, AutoCAD, and Plant Order Manager.
• Identify and design special fabricated parts required using ACAD and 3‑D modeling systems (Auto‑Desk Inventor, etc.), ensuring that MI’s are completed and the material is routed accordingly to the appropriate assembly team.
• Interface with customers, channel partners, Field‑Sales, and Eaton Care through participation in plant visits, training support and customer events.
• Provide input to Product Line development teams on design and pick table enhancements.
• Support and assist assembly teams in resolution of process and/or information quality problems.
• Support Satellite Plants thru design review and product implementation.

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution OR currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program in Engineering from an accredited institution.
• No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates within a 75‑mile radius of Sumter, SC will be considered. Active‑Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

• Experience with MRP/ERP Systems.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint).
• Demonstrated proficiency in Autodesk (AutoCAD and 3D Inventor).
• Demonstrated technical and application knowledge of panel boards and switchboards.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, persuasive skills, and analytical problem solving skills. Work with individuals and groups to effectively participate within team environment.

Expected to work with some degree of independence and make decisions that affect the workgroup. Focus efforts on attaining assigned goals and objectives, which include meeting needs and expectations of internal and external customers.
