Location:
Air Force Base, SC.
Employment Type:
Full‑Time, Exempt, On‑site. Salary: $140,000–$150,000 (depending on experience). Security Clearance:
Active Top Secret Clearance Required.
Seeking an experienced Senior Maintenance Specialist to provide maintenance, logistics, and readiness support for 5th Generation fighter aircraft operations. The ideal candidate has a strong aircraft maintenance background, understands 5th Generation fighter systems, and is experienced in supporting aircraft readiness and sustainment at the operational level.
Key Responsibilities- Advise and support Numbered Air Force (NAF) processes related to aircraft readiness, certification, sustainment, and maintenance operations.
- Coordinate with MAJCOM, Air National Guard, Air Force Reserve, and depot organizations to resolve aircraft readiness and maintenance issues.
- Support planning and execution of certification events, exercises, and operational planning efforts.
- Provide subject matter expertise on aircraft maintenance systems, logistics, and operational capabilities.
- Participate in operational planning teams and working groups.
- Prepare executive‑level briefings and reports.
- Review maintenance, logistics, and munitions issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver maintenance training programs.
- Perform action officer duties supporting logistics, maintenance, and sustainment initiatives.
- Identify enterprise‑wide supply and maintenance solutions.
- Conduct system evaluations and recommend process improvements.
- Promote maintenance standardization across organizations.
- Active Top Secret security clearance.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience using Air Force readiness reporting systems such as DRRS and DCAPES.
- Minimum of 4 years of advanced fighter aircraft maintenance experience.
- Strong knowledge of 5th Generation fighter aircraft (such as the F‑22 or F‑35) and how their maintenance systems integrate to support mission readiness.
- Hands‑on experience with aircraft/airframe maintenance is required.
- Candidates whose experience is primarily in weapons or munitions maintenance without significant aircraft maintenance experience are not the target profile.
- Experience in roles such as Production Superintendent, Quality Assurance, Maintenance Officer, or senior maintenance leadership responsible for sortie generation, aircraft employment, and sustainment is highly desired.
- Speaks the "5th Generation" maintenance language and understands how advanced fighter systems operate as an integrated platform.
- Has a strong maintenance (MX) background focused on aircraft rather than solely weapons systems.
- Is comfortable advising senior leadership on maintenance readiness, logistics, and sustainment operations.
