Strivector's premier client (a well-known market leader in their space) is hiring for the following full-time direct hire position.
POSITION OVERVIEW
As a Manufacturing Process Engineer your roles and responsibilities will include:
The client is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to support production operations by improving manufacturing processes, increasing equipment reliability, reducing waste, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role provides hands-on engineering support for a production line, spending more than 70% of the time on the manufacturing floor troubleshooting equipment, optimizing processes, and implementing engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily engineering support for manufacturing operations and production equipment.
- Design, modify, and implement machine improvements to improve safety, quality, productivity, and reliability.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, servo, and PLC-controlled equipment.
- Support capital projects by assisting with equipment design, installation, commissioning, and validation.
- Lead process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives to increase production capacity and reduce costs.
- Develop and modify tooling, fixtures, and technical drawings using Solid Works, AutoCAD, or similar CAD software.
- Coordinate with maintenance, production, R&D, vendors, and cross-functional teams to resolve equipment and process issues.
- Prepare capital expenditure requests and manage project budgets for small- to medium-sized improvement projects.
- Develop and update engineering documentation, including preventive maintenance procedures, engineering change notices (ECNs), bills of materials (BOMs), operating procedures, and validation documents.
- Support preventive maintenance strategies and data-driven troubleshooting efforts.
- Recommend and oversee vendor services, contractor work, and equipment upgrades.
- Train production and maintenance personnel on new equipment, processes, and engineering improvements.
- Mentor technical staff and support continuous development within the engineering team.
- Present technical information and project updates to both technical and non-technical audiences.
QUALIFICATIONS
Most importantly, you need to be a passionate Manufacturing Process Engineer who enjoys his work and is considered to be one of the best within your organization. The ideal Manufacturing Process Engineer would be someone with deep experience in many (if not all) of the following:
- 2–5+ years of manufacturing or process engineering experience.
- Experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment in a production environment.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with PLC-controlled, servo-driven, pneumatic, and cam-driven equipment.
- Proficiency with Solid Works, AutoCAD, or similar CAD software.
- Experience with tooling and fixture design and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and root cause analysis.
- Strong project management and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, automotive, packaging, or other high-volume manufacturing environments.
- Experience managing capital equipment projects.
- Knowledge of equipment validation, engineering documentation, and preventive maintenance programs.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
