Blue Harlan is partnering with the Board and leadership team of a well-funded, mission-driven public service organization to hire a Chief Financial Officer who believes that strong financial stewardship is essential to impact.

This organization is in active growth mode
, operating across multiple sites with a $10M+ and growing annual budget
, strong public funding, and diversified revenue streams including grants and philanthropy. The CFO will play a key role in ensuring financial stability while supporting long-term expansion and community outcomes.

The CFO will serve as a strategic thought partner to the Board and executive leadership, while remaining hands-on in core financial operations. This is an ideal role for a nonprofit finance leader who enjoys building systems, strengthening controls, and helping an organization scale responsibly.

• Budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
• Financial reporting and audit preparation
• Cash management and banking relationships
• Fund accounting and oversight of restricted funding
• Management of grants and philanthropic revenue
• Approximately 15% of funding from grants and philanthropy
• Majority of revenue from public/government sources
• Ensuring compliance with funding and reporting requirements
• Partnering with a capable clerical assistant who supports transactional tasks

• Proven experience in nonprofit, public sector, education, or mission-driven finance
• Strong foundation in accounting, fund accounting, and financial reporting
• Experience managing grant-funded and restricted revenue
• Comfortable balancing strategic leadership with day-to-day execution
• Proactive, solutions-oriented, and adaptable in a growing organization
• IT and or HR experience a plus
