Financial Aid Coordinator – Loans

Department: EM Financial Aid and Scholarships

Employment Type: Full Time

Responsibilities

The Financial Aid Coordinator – Loans serves as a member of the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships (OSFAS) Student Loan Unit. This position works with a team to administer Federal Direct Subsidized, Unsubsidized, Parent PLUS and Graduate PLUS Loans, along with Private Educational Loans. The role includes general loan administration responsibilities such as reviewing COD reports, disbursement reports, and one‑term loan processing.

As a member of the professional staff, the coordinator assists in general student advisement services during peak times and participates in federal financial aid application review and processing, including professional judgment and eligibility review.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience in financial aid program administration with analytical and complex processing capabilities, and accounting experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • The ability to work with and maintain the confidentiality of records.
  • The ability to plan, organize, prioritize work, communicate thoroughly and accurately with a diverse population, with colleagues and with specific outside agencies.
  • The ability to make independent but accurate judgments.
  • The successful candidate will have to learn and maintain a working knowledge of the DL programs, COD system requirements and responsibilities, and the associated University financial aid policies and procedures.
  • Should be able to work independently but within a highly integrated team that has service and responsible administration as its highest priorities.
