Sr. Deployment Strategist - Southeast

Job Summary

Sr. Staff Deployment Strategist at Alation, leading business transformation at the intersection of data intelligence, AI, and governance. Serves as a hybrid strategic consultant and forward‑deployed solution architect partnering with customers to design and deploy high‑impact agentic solutions using Alation’s configuration‑first platform. Reports to the Director, Deployment Strategy in the Southeast Region.

• Lead executive discovery sessions to surface business challenges, data and governance gaps, and high‑value opportunities for AI automation.
• Rapidly prototype and validate AI agent solutions, building functional low/no‑code prototypes and proof‑of‑concept agents within the Alation platform and other tools.
• Quantify business value through clear KPIs and ROI modeling, translating technical capabilities into business outcomes that justify investment.
• Architect tailored deployment paths in collaboration with technical teams, balancing configuration‑first quick wins with scalable custom solutions.
• Own end‑to‑end deployment of configuration‑first deployments, configuring core application capabilities, logic, and agentic behaviors to meet client needs.
• Integrate new workflows into client operations, ensuring adoption and stickiness.
• Translate strategic objectives into actionable technical requirements, manage projects and coordinate with technical counterparts.
• Serve as the bridge between client stakeholders and Alation’s product teams for continuous solution refinement.
• Conduct executive business reviews to present value delivered, using data to prove impact on client business.
• Transition from delivery lead to trusted advisor, identifying new growth opportunities and business challenges to deepen client maturity.

• 8+ years in management consulting (strategy, operations, tech) or forward‑deployed solution roles at data platform companies.
• Hands‑on technical fluency with SQL (essential), familiarity with Python, APIs, and modern data architectures. Ability to read code and build in low/no‑code platforms.
• Executive presence with superior communication skills; confident facilitator, advisor, and strategic partner at the C‑level.
• Demonstrated track record of building and deploying low/no‑code solutions, driving from prototype to production.
• Strong problem‑solving ability, synthesizing ambiguity into clear, actionable recommendations.
• Experience influencing product direction by surfacing client needs and market insights.
• Deep understanding of agentic patterns, LLMs, data governance, and metadata management (preferred).
• Advanced education in a technical undergraduate or graduate program; advanced degree (MBA, technical Master’s) is a plus.

• Approx. 25-40% travel for customer and prospect onsite visits.

Base salary range: $ – $ (U.S. only). Final compensation may vary based on factors such as experience, education, location, specialty and training.
