Technical Adoption Manager
Candidates must live in the National Capital Region and hold an active Top Secret security clearance with polygraph.
Success in the Role- Within one month: articulate customer key business objectives and desired outcomes and begin crafting a joint Success Plan with the customer.
- Through the customer engagement, serve as a trusted advisor, ensure best‑in‑class execution, recommend improvements in customer operations, and proactively drive consumption, customer health, and retention.
- Articulate long‑term and short‑term goals, connect them to the broader business picture, identify gaps, and develop a structured engagement plan.
- Complete relevant technology assessments, roadmap reviews, deployment guidance, best‑practice reviews, and day‑2 operations guidance.
- Identify customer use cases and opportunities for prescribing adoption guidance and workshops to increase adoption and consumption.
- Present achievements and customer progress in Quarterly Business Reviews.
- Communicate key topics of VMware’s solutions across all customer levels to deliver realized value and long‑term strategy.
- Continue to grow technical knowledge and soft skills through quarterly training programs.
- Leverage proven work experience in customer‑facing positions (e.g., TAM, Solution Engineer, technology consultant, IT vendor, professional services, or IT team).
- Build on experience with enterprise‑level virtualization and map additional VMware solutions to the customer’s unique business and technical requirements.
- Apply expertise with VMware’s multi‑cloud products (Infrastructure SDDC – vSphere, VCF, VVF;
Cloud Environment – Cloud services, VMC/AWS, vCloud Director; Network Virtualization – NSX; Automation/Monitoring – VCF Operations Manager, VCF Automation). - Utilize a TAM playbook, delivery kits, and tools to guide the customer through creating success plans, delivering technology roadmaps, providing solution guidance, optimizing operations, and delivering industry insights and benchmarking.
- Present and communicate effectively and build relationships with CxO‑level personnel.
- Collaborate with multi‑functional VMware project teams, including consultants, engineers, product management, and support staff.
- Use organizational and planning skills to track customer plans, adjust as needed, and drive them to completion.
- Help VMware create customers for life by collaborating with Customer Success, Global Support, Education, Professional Services, Development, and Sales teams.
- Contribute back to the internal global TAM community, sharing experiences and learning from peers.

Bachelor’s degree preferred. Relevant years of experience in lieu of a degree may be considered. 12+ years related experience.
CompensationOn Target Earnings (OTE) range: $151,900 – $243,000. OTE includes sales incentive commission per plan documents and may include equity.
