IT Project Manager
Abacus Technology is seeking an IT Project Manager to lead and oversee a team of technical professionals providing enterprise support for the AFCENT Network Operations Security Center (NOSC) at Shaw AFB. This is a full-time position.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing project management oversight of information systems and technology projects from inception to completion.
- Developing detailed project plans, identifying resources, schedules, and other relevant information required to achieve project objectives.
- Coordinating each new project with the project leads to customize the project plan to meet specific manning, time, and budget resources.
- Tracking project resources requests, RFQs, RFPs, and SOWs.
- Managing and assisting with coordination of IT contracts with external and local Contracting offices for the acquisition of materials, equipment, and services.
- Tracking and maintaining enterprise-level licensing inventory for initial project management software purchases, renewals, and upgrades.
- Utilizing AFCENT approved project management tools and other information portals to provide access to project status and supporting data, information and documentation, coordinating with web developers/administrators, systems administrators, as required.
- Coordinating project tasks and support activities (e.g., personnel deployments, and project material/equipment acquisition, staging, shipping, and preparation) with internal and external agencies.
- Training NOSC personnel on the use of current project management tools and other project management and planning tools.
- Tracking and providing metrics on the effectiveness of the project plans, resources utilized and project execution; and providing recommendations for improvements.
- Managing/coordinating the acquisition of required project resources (documentation, licensing, hardware, software, and other materials).
Qualifications include 3+ years experience in project and IT service management role. Associate's degree in a related field. Additional years of experience may be substituted for degree. Must be CAPM and ITIL certified. Experience leading a technical team and comfortable providing direction and guidance to others. Experience with project management tools. Proven expertise in managing cost, resources, schedules, and risks. Able to provide detailed professional reports and presentations to assist Government senior leaders with strategic planning and decision-making.
Must be knowledgeable of Air Force tools and technologies. Experience with DoD systems and military protocols. Able to provide clear and concise directions to staff regarding project execution. Outstanding communication skills across all levels of the organization. May be required to support OCONUS deployment and TDY travel as well as CONUS TDY assignments. Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
