Panel board Sr Associate – Aftermarket
Location:
Sumter, SC (Eaton’s Commercial Products and Assemblies division)
Shift: Monday – Thursday, 3:00 pm – 1:00 am (variable hours).
Hours and CompensationHourly rate: $19.25/hour.
Position is eligible for a variable incentive program. Salary figures are general guidelines; final compensation will depend on candidate skills, experience, and market considerations.
Primary ResponsibilitiesAct as a key contributor in the absence of the Team Leader, driving results on safety, quality, delivery, and productivity metrics.
Provide leadership by promoting teamwork, training team members, and proactively resolving production needs.
Support outbound shipments of components and products, maintain inventories in aftermarket storerooms, and ensure timely execution of customer orders.
Essential Functions- You will assist the Team Leader/Supervisor in ensuring that customer orders are executed in a timely and efficient manner, prioritizing urgent orders.
- You will review orders and associated documentation (drawings, bills of material, travel documents) to provide the team with necessary information and troubleshoot documentation issues.
- You will communicate professionally to provide status updates, resolve production issues, and promote teamwork across departments.
- You will utilize the computer to resolve errors through research and auditing of transactions.
- You will work on projects and special assignments as required, demonstrating initiative and self‑motivation.
- You will receive, document, store, stage and issue all job‑related material to satisfy production requirements.
- You will support customer service requirements, including maintaining acceptable on‑time performance and quick ships.
- You will package, create, and band equipment, parts, materials, products and accessories to minimize damage during shipment or staging, and to create a safe work environment. You will apply labels, stickers, and stencils as required for identification and ease of storage or shipping.
- Minimum 1 year assembly experience.
- Working knowledge of Bill of Materials (BOMs).
- Experience operating hand tools and gauges.
- Basic computer skills.
- Legally authorized to work in the US permanently without company sponsorship.
- Must be willing to obtain forklift certification; forklift experience is ideal.
- Working knowledge of Lean concepts.
- Advanced computer skills, including Excel, Word, DMM, AS400, Mapics, Vista, and Outlook.
- Ability to multitask and balance various demands while achieving goals.
- Collaborative style and effectiveness in a diverse environment.
- Self‑starter capable of working with minimal supervision and resolving unusual problems.
- Professional handling of interactions with internal and external suppliers.
- Capability to work independently and in teams across plant and corporate entities.
- Self‑motivated, results‑oriented, and strong organizational skills.
- Adherence to quality standards, continuously improving processes and performing quality checks.
- Maintenance of a clean, organized work area per 5S standards.
- Willingness to work overtime when necessary.
- Compliance with all safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and safe operation of equipment.
Expected to work with some degree of independence and make decisions that affect the workgroup. Focus efforts on attaining assigned goals and objectives, including meeting the needs and expectations of internal and external customers.
Physical DemandsEmployee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach at or above shoulder level, grip, and use hands to handle items. Frequent walking, stooping, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and gripping are required. Lifts and carries up to 35 pounds, and pushes or pulls up to or greater than 35 pounds. Vision requirements include far and close vision with depth perception and color discrimination.
