Position Summary:
The Mechanical Assembly Technician is responsible for reading blueprints and correctly assembling enclosures and other products. This position plays a key role in ensuring the product is assembled according to the customer's needs. Other responsibilities of a Mechanical Assembly Technician include being able to identify hardware, use basic hand tools, and able to make sure the product can be assembled in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interface with other departments to ensure customer order deadlines are met.
- Learn the use and care of basic hand tools.
- Learn the identification of hardware types and sizes.
- Learn the identification and use of assembly, parts lists, and piece-part drawings.
- Learn proper assembly techniques of electrical components used in electrical enclosures.
- Learn the proper use of electric and air-powered tools.
- Learn the basics of CPS manufacturing processes.
- High school diploma or GED
- Employees may be an entry-level trainee.
- Must have U.S Citizenship
- Microsoft Suite experience (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
- Experience in mechanical assembly
- Forklift certified
- Able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly
- Able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods of time
- Ability to climb ladders or step stools to access material when needed
- Capable of handling repetitive motions such as grasping, lifting, and pulling items
- Able to operate pallet jacks, forklifts, or other warehouse equipment when needed
- Ability to work in various warehouse environments, including hot, cold, or noisy conditions
- Sufficient vision and hearing to safely operate equipment and perform job duties
