The Production Supervisor is a key member of the plant leadership team and is responsible for ensuring that production, quality and safety goals are met. The incumbent will lead a team of manufacturing associates in a 24/7 operation and will use strong communication and leadership skills to achieve plant goals.
Responsibilities- Supervise, monitor, and mentor a team of machine operators on multiple shifts to meet safety, quality, productivity, and delivery goals.
- Consistently apply policies, rules, and the discipline process, and facilitate teamwork within process work cells.
- Lead the operation of the facility, making decisions related to safety, productivity, maintenance, material availability, and schedule compliance to maximize utilization and productivity.
- Meet EHS objectives and drive safety culture by participating in safety processes, conducting safety audits, and guiding shift associates on Safe Work Instructions.
- Ensure schedule compliance in meeting orders processed throughout the plant.
- Define, measure, monitor, and share process performance metrics with operators and identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Meet requirements of operations quality, efficiency, and material utilization.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Strong math skills; ability to analyze problems and justify decisions
- Able to support weekend and night shift operations
- Experience supervising in a lean manufacturing environment
- Training in supervisory skills such as leadership, motivation, conflict resolution, time management, and EEOC compliance is preferred
- Able to execute Oracle WIP transactions and resolve basic production issues
- Experienced user of MS Outlook and Office (Excel and Word); ability to create well-formatted documents
- Non-climate controlled manufacturing environment. Some evening and weekend work is required
- Associates degree or equivalent work experience
