PDS Tech is currently recruiting for an Assembler in North Charleston, SC!

This position is a great opportunity for individuals with 0-6 months of Manufacturing experience and no Aviation experience looking to take advantage of comprehensive training and hands-on experience in a dynamic work environment!

Job Description:

The Assembler position offers an entry-level opportunity designed to develop aviation manufacturing professionals. This role combines classroom training at Trident Technical College with structured on-the-job training at the worksite. Successful candidates will gain hands‑on experience in aviation manufacturing, with the potential for career growth within the industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform simple production assembly operations on structural and mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and aircraft systems using manual operations.
  • Select and correctly install, fit, fasten, align, and adjust parts, materials, tools, assemblies, and hardware.
  • Use production and engineering prints to determine exact installation locations.
  • Report job constraints such as errors in workmanship, defects in parts, and issues with assembly procedures.
  • Perform repairs, rework, functional checks, and authorized changes as directed by the Lead.
  • Drill close tolerance holes in composites, tool indexing, and measure gaps as required.
  • Read and understand blueprints, drawings, schematics, engineering dispositions, and instructions.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, organized, and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) free work area.
  • Comply with all safety requirements, including wearing safety glasses, harnesses, respirators, and other personal protective equipment (PPE) 100% of the time.
  • Stand for extended periods, work in elevated and confined spaces, and perform frequent overhead work.
  • Lift up to 35 pounds without assistance, and perform tasks requiring bending, twisting, crawling, crouching, kneeling, reaching, and climbing.
  • Handle, use, and dispose of hazardous materials safely.
  • Work with sealants, solvents, and plastics, often in noisy environments and on elevated platforms.
  • Obtain and maintain necessary training certifications as required.
Requirements
  • At least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • No prior aviation experience.
  • Limited manufacturing experience (0‑6 months).
  • Ability to work any shift (1st, 2nd, 3rd) and overtime, including weekends, as required by business needs.
  • Physically capable of working in a factory production environment, including tasks such as sitting, walking, bending, kneeling, stair climbing, gripping, squeezing, and operating hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read and comprehend detailed work instructions in English.
  • Basic computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong communication skills and work ethic.
  • Must align with company values.
  • Candidates must provide their own transportation.
Additional Information
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required.
  • This position involves approximately 10 weeks of training.
  • Contractors must be able to work variable shifts, with the specific shift determined by business needs.
  • Frequent exposure to noise, and occasional contact with metals and hazardous materials.

Pay Details: 23.00 per hour
