Folder Gluer Operator

We are looking for a Bobst Folder/Gluer Operator in Spartanburg, SC. The wage range for this position is $19–$25 per hour, depending on folder/gluer experience.

The facility is 82,000 square feet and operates as a state‑of‑the‑art packaging plant equipped with sheetfed offset, narrow‑web flexo, die cutting, and custom folding/gluing capabilities supported by advanced inline quality control systems.

Shift options include: 2 PM–10 PM, Monday‑Friday (5 days), and 10 PM–6 AM, Sunday‑Thursday (4 days). Flexibility to work either shift is required.

• Prepare for Operation – Check order documentation, verify accuracy, and communicate order information and additional instructions to support staff. Establish the most efficient manner to run the product through the assigned machine to produce the expected quality and quantity. Set up the machine and components to create products in line with customer specifications.
• Operate Gluer Machine – Operate assigned equipment following company policies and procedures. Observe and monitor machine operations to determine whether adjustments are needed. Perform routine adjustments as necessary. Direct support staff as needed to complete orders.
• Perform Maintenance – Observe and monitor machine operations to determine whether adjustments are needed. Perform basic maintenance and troubleshoot assigned equipment during the shift.
• Perform Quality Checks – Complete quality checklists and perform quality checks of the product throughout to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Perform Line Clearance – Clean assigned area by removing all products from the line, trash, boxes, and other supplies associated with a completed order.
• Use powered equipment – Folding and gluing machines, automatic sealing equipment, inserters, tape heads, computers, trash compactor, automatic labelers, and roller‑conveyor table.

• Previous Bobst folder/gluer experience in the printing/packaging fields is highly desired; all operators with folder/gluer experience will be considered.
• The ideal candidate will support operational productivity and company profitability by accurately and efficiently producing products to customer specifications and company quality standards.
• Able to perform work‑related functions requiring addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Interpret instructions, job orders, production sheets, and work‑related documents.
• Must have strong mechanical skills and aptitude.
• Able to communicate problems and malfunctions to co‑workers and lead/management.
• Ability to work 8‑hour shifts, with overtime and holidays as required (overtime paid over 40 hours per week).
• Ability to lift 10–15 pounds continuously, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, stand for long hours (8 hours), and use hands and wrists continuously in controlled movement. Must receive and follow instructions and use vision to identify defects.

The actual rate of pay offered will vary based on education, skills, experience, proficiency, shift, and location. The total compensation package may include overtime and shift differentials.
