Rubber Material Handler
The Rubber Material Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage, and inventory management of rubber materials within the manufacturing facility, ensuring a continuous supply to production lines.
Job Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to load, unload, and transport rubber materials to and from storage areas, production lines, and shipping/receiving docks.
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming rubber material shipments against purchase orders and packing slips, noting any discrepancies or damages.
- Perform accurate inventory counts and maintain organized storage of rubber materials, including proper labeling, rotation (FIFO), and segregation of different material types.
- Supply production lines with the required rubber components in a timely manner, ensuring proper material identification and quantity.
- Remove finished goods or waste materials from production areas and transport them to designated locations for further processing or disposal.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), operating equipment safely, and following hazardous material handling procedures.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment, including material storage areas and pathways.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or material quality issues to supervisors promptly.
- May assist with basic data entry for inventory tracking or material movement logs.
Job Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or material handling role.
Skills:
- Proven ability to safely operate forklifts and pallet jacks; valid certification preferred.
- Basic understanding of inventory control principles and practices.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (e.g., medical device, pharmaceutical) is a plus.
