Reports To: Fabrication Lead
Location: York, PA
Pay Grade: Based on Experience / Market Rate
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday through Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Hours: 35-40 hours per week, overtime as required

Position Summary

United Cool Air, LLC is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Brake Operator to join our Sheet Metal Fabrication team. The Brake Operator is responsible for safely setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC press brake equipment used in the fabrication of commercial HVAC components and assemblies. This role is critical in ensuring parts are manufactured accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with quality standards and production schedules.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to quality, safety, and teamwork.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC press brake equipment to bend and form sheet metal components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Review production schedules and complete daily assignments as directed through LYNQ and departmental priorities.
  • Verify machine programs, tooling selection, and setup requirements before production begins.
  • Inspect formed parts to ensure compliance with dimensional, quality, and customer specifications.
  • Make machine adjustments as needed to maintain production standards and quality expectations.
  • Perform routine machine checks and preventative maintenance activities.
  • Maintain proper material flow and ensure machines are adequately stocked with required materials.
  • Monitor brake programs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Communicate production issues, material shortages, quality concerns, or equipment problems to the Fabrication Lead.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals and customer delivery commitments.
  • Cross-train and provide support in other fabrication areas, including laser cutting and punch operations, as needed.
  • Assist other production departments during equipment downtime or workload fluctuations.
  • Follow all company safety policies, quality standards, and good manufacturing practices.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support business needs.
Qualifications Required
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Previous manufacturing experience in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and production documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Effective verbal communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a production environment.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
Preferred
  • Previous CNC press brake operation experience.
  • Experience with sheet metal fabrication processes.
  • Familiarity with laser cutting, punching, or other fabrication equipment.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments such as tape measures, calipers, and angle gauges.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation.
  • Ability to work safely around moving machinery and manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to use hand tools, measuring devices, and material handling equipment.
Working Relationships

The Brake Operator works closely with the Fabrication Lead, fellow fabrication team members, quality personnel, and other production departments to ensure components are manufactured accurately and delivered on time. This position requires effective communication, teamwork, and a commitment to supporting company goals for quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
