Community Coordinator - South Carolina

Location: Regional assignment with local travel

The Community Coordinator serves as MCEC's grassroots ambassador and local connector within their assigned community, building meaningful relationships with schools, families, military installations, and community organizations while delivering parent workshops and expanding adoption of MCEC programs that directly support military-connected students and families. This role combines frontline workshop delivery with strategic networking to expand MCEC's local presence, forge sustainable partnerships, and create pathways for organizational growth.

Working as the boots-on-the-ground representative of MCEC within their assigned community, the Community Coordinator builds trust with educators, parents, military families, and local stakeholders. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, cultural competence, and the ability to translate organizational strategy into local action while cultivating relationships that support both immediate program needs and long-term sustainability.

Success in this role directly contributes to MCEC's community-level impact and visibility while identifying partnership and funding opportunities that advance organizational growth and ensure military-connected students and families receive the support they need to thrive.

• Deliver parent workshops and early literacy programming throughout assigned community, ensuring quality implementation and meaningful participant engagement
• Lead outreach efforts to military installations, school districts, and family support organizations to expand program participation and awareness
• Expand Student 2 Student (S2S) program adoption in local schools, particularly Military Interstate Schools America (MISA) schools, providing training and ongoing support
• Work with the State Coordinator and Director of Implementation to coordinate logistics for workshops, training sessions, and community events including venue selection, materials preparation, and participant communication
• Provide direct support to military-connected families, connecting them with MCEC resources and community services that address their needs

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with school administrators, counselors, teachers, and family liaison officers within assigned community
• Work with family liaison officers to build connections with local military installation leadership, family readiness groups, and military support organizations
• Network with community-based organizations, local businesses, healthcare providers, civic groups, and other stakeholders to expand MCEC's reach and partnerships
• Identify and cultivate relationships with potential partners and funders, making strategic introductions to MCEC's Advancement team
• Represent MCEC at community meetings, school events, military functions, and networking opportunities to build brand awareness and organizational credibility

• Identify local funding opportunities including grants, sponsor ships, and community fundraising initiatives, reporting findings monthly to the State Coordinator and Advancement team
• Facilitate introductions between potential school/district and community partners and MCEC's Advancement team to support membership conversations
• Support community-driven fundraising initiatives (golf tournaments, service organization campaigns, etc.) to position MCEC as a valued community partner
• Transition cultivated community relationships to Advancement team for development into donors, sponsors, or strategic partners

• Track and report program participation, outcomes, and community engagement metrics to demonstrate impact and inform continuous improvement
• Maintain accurate records of workshops delivered, partnerships established, and community connections made
• Collect participant feedback and testimonials that support program evaluation and organizational storytelling
• Document local funding opportunities, partnership conversations, and advancement connections in organizational systems
• Provide regular progress reports to State Coordinator with insights on community needs, emerging opportunities, and program effectiveness
• Work collaboratively with State Coordinator to align local activities with regional and organizational strategic goals
