Patriot's Village State Veterans Home is seeking a dedicated RN to serve as our Infection Preventionist and Wound Care nurse, leading clinical excellence and protecting the health of the veterans we proudly serve.
Wage: $44.00 - $48.83/hr
Schedule: Full Time and Part Time open!
OverviewThe Infection Preventionist promotes sound and scientific infection prevention principles and practices. This position is part of the clinical leadership team. Responsible for design and dissemination of infection prevention information, including surveillance data and policy decisions. Is also accountable for decreasing the incidence and transmission of infectious diseases between patients, staff, visitors, and the community. Serves as a team member on various committees.

Part-time are eligible for all of the above except Medical. On‑call are not eligible for any of the above except 401k.
Placement within the wage range for this position is determined by years of experience, qualifications, and demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions.

- Collect infection data, maintain records for each case of healthcare‑associated infection
- Conduct outbreak investigations
- Train clinical facility leaders on implementation of infection prevention practices
- Investigate incidents of infections and report such incidents to the appropriate person/department, and identify supplies required for infection prevention activities
- Prevention and control of infection on a 24‑hour basis
- Provide direction regarding the management of infectious patients/residents and other infection prevention issues
- Direct the infection control risk assessment in conjunction with the executive and clinical leadership teams
- Develop and implement the annual infection prevention plan
- Evaluate the annual plan for goal achievement in conjunction with the IPC
- Conduct surveillance of infections
- Direct and monitor audits regarding the implementation of and compliance with policies
- Provide education and training
- Liaise with clinical teams regarding the development of standards, audits, and research
- Work with the federal, state and county departments of health regarding infectious and communicable disease reporting
Education and Experience
- Current RN licensure
- Current certification in Infection Control (preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree
- Post‑acute care work experience
