Staff Nurse RN

Job Description

We are seeking a Staff Nurse RN to join our team! You will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of assigned patients.

• Maintain a working knowledge of medications commonly used in the procedural setting. BLS required for full‑time, part‑time, and PRN employees.
• Have knowledge of IV insertion skills and the fluids used.
• Demonstrate the ability to perform a head‑to‑toe assessment of a patient and reassess as needed.
• Assess and reassess pain, utilize appropriate pain management techniques, and educate the patient/family.
• Perform all aspects of care (pre‑procedure, intra‑procedure, and post‑procedure) in an environment optimizing patient safety and reducing the likelihood of medical/healthcare errors.
• Assist the physician during procedures by:
• Assisting in transport of patients to and from recovery.
• Communicating patient information to all staff involved in care.
• Treating family and patients with respect and dignity.
• Carrying out medical and procedural aseptic techniques and universal precautions.
• Meeting current documentation standards and policies and completing these items during each workday.
• Scrubbing in with the Physician and assisting as needed.

• Education:
  
  Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN desirable. Able to read and communicate in English. BLS.
• Experience:
  
  One year of nursing practice, preferably in a perioperative setting or in an Operating Room.
• Licensure: RN licensed by the State of South Carolina.
