Job Summary and Qualifications

The HCA Nurse Residency Program equips you with essential tools for thriving in today's healthcare environment. This paid program facilitates your transition from classroom learning to practical application through a structured series of educational experiences, including:

  • Advanced clinical training in a specialized field.
  • Monthly educational workshops.
  • Preceptorship with an experienced facility preceptor.
  • Skill assessment and evaluation through hands-on simulations.
  • Mentorship from seasoned nursing leaders.
  • Collaborative evidence-based practice projects.

As an RN Resident, you will deliver high-quality, patient-focused care aligned with departmental specifications and practice standards. Working in conjunction with medical personnel and the care team, you'll provide comprehensive, individualized, and compassionate care utilizing established nursing models like Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage. You will also advocate for patients and their families to ensure an exceptional patient experience.

Your Responsibilities
  • Assess patient conditions during admission and each scheduled shift, reporting any changes promptly.
  • Implement procedures or treatments as ordered, ensuring thorough documentation in patients' medical records.
  • Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient responses, intervening as necessary.
  • Provide exceptional care, responding accurately to patient requests and anticipating their needs.
  • Educate patients and families about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up actions, ensuring clarity in communication.
What You Need to Qualify
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of employment.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within one year of employment.
  • Other certifications as needed during employment.
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse status in South Carolina.
  • No prior experience necessary.
  • Some travel may be required for training purposes.
