Job Summary and Qualifications
The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.”
The RN serves as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers and models a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management.
- Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical provider(s).
- Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
- Responds promptly to patient requests and anticipates patient needs proactively.
- Teaches patients/families/caregivers about medical condition, treatment plan, medications, side effects, and follow-up measures, translating complex terminology for understanding.
- Prepares patients and families for future self-management and healthy lifestyle changes.
Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma;
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Preferred.
Licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
