LPN Night Shift Sun-Tues; Academic Year

Overview

Provides direct care to students, including administration of medications, first aid, emergency medical assistance, tube feedings, medical assessments, and other related nursing needs. Maintains adequate medical records and reports pertinent information to the physician and Nurse Administrator/Manager II.

• Administer medications and provide student treatments, tube feedings, and other nursing care.
• Record and monitor students' signs, symptoms, reactions, and progress; analyze records and report findings.
• Assist in the identification of special needs for students with multiple disabilities.
• Help plan and develop in‑service and educational programs for staff and students.
• Assist the RN with individual health plans and emergency action plans.
• Complete administrative duties such as filing, billing, and documentation.
• Provide supervision and instruction to other medical professionals and staff, including UAPs and emergency medication protocols.

• Graduate from an accredited LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) program.
• Current South Carolina LPN license issued by the State Board of Nursing.
• Three years of full‑time nursing experience.
• Solid knowledge of nursing principles and practices, with the ability to follow detailed technical instructions.
• Ability to prepare and present educational programs to both non‑medical and medical personnel.
• Independent decision‑making and strong interdisciplinary collaboration skills with nurses, teachers, dorm staff, and others.
• Basic computer skills.
