Job Summary:
The Department of Mechanical Engineering within the College of Engineering and Computing seeks to hire a Postdoctoral Fellow to conduct grant‑based research on DOE‑funded projects aimed at developing solid oxide electrolysis cells for hydrogen. The role includes experimental work, student supervision, mathematical modeling, and reporting.
- Synthesizes and characterizes materials for solid oxide electrolysis cell components (30%)
- Evaluates cell performance using electrochemical methods (30%)
- Performs computational modeling of electrochemical performance (10%)
- Supervises graduate and undergraduate students on thesis and university‑funded projects (10%)
- Writes quarterly progress reports for DOE (10%)
- Writes peer‑reviewed scientific papers (10%)
- PhD in materials science or related disciplines with solid oxide fuel cell knowledge.
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the department. Job is full‑time, 40 hours per week.
